On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Federal Association of the Fruit, Vegetable and Potato Processing Industry (BOGK), GEFA Exportservice GmbH is organising the next market exploration trip to Poland together with its partner InConventus InConventus.

Since Poland joined the EU in 2004, reciprocal exports of agricultural and food products have developed rapidly. In 2023, German exports to Poland reached more than 7.2 billion euros (+4.4% year-on-year). This was the first time that Poland made the leap to third place among Germany's most important export destinations, behind the Netherlands and France.

With an import volume of €312.2 million in 2023 (+17.6% compared to the previous year), Poland is the fifth largest supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables to Germany. The country exported a further €695 million (+6.7% compared to 2022) in processed fruit, vegetables and potatoes to Germany. This makes the country one of the most important trading partners for the German fruit and vegetable sector.
